.Mrs. Watanabe - She is the reason why many of us (and I've confirmed this with many of my classmates!) are incredibly skilled and fast typists. I'm serious. She made learning how to use computers and typing FUN! Many of us will NEVER forget her. Where are you Mrs. Watanabe??
.Mrs. K, Mrs. Ogasawara, Mrs. Miyashiro, Mr. McCoy, Mr. Campbell, Mr. "Mats" (Matsushima), Mrs. Shinagawa - my teachers, all who were a part of the strong foundation that was built in my early years of life that I continue to carry with me. They all have played a significant part in my real appreciation for a good education. All true educators.
.Mrs. Teruya - My principal while I was there from '89-'96. Kind lady.
.Classmates from '89-'96:

.ikaika kepa'a
.jaimie (who loved horses)
.brynn evan-sison
.joshua manglimat
.ryan tucker
.lillian strickland
.alicia welt
.kainoa paleka
....there's so many more from our Class of 1996, those are just some names that come to mind. We were all so close and had so many great memories. I'd just love to reconnect with all of them.
.Aunty Pua too! Is she still wearing green? Thanks for always keeping us in line while waiting for lunch. Such a sweet lady:)
I would love to say "hello" to all of my former students. It is always nice to hear from my students and to reconnect with them to hear how they have met their learning and personal goals over the years.
If I could say "hello" to a long lost friend from Maunawili (student or staff) it would be Mr.Matsushima. Why it would be Mr.Matsushima is that he's a cool guy and he has done a lot of thing for me and he was the best second grade teacher EVER!!. He also let us play our gameboys and eat our snacks when ever we were done with our homework he also let us go on Kid Pix all the time. So yes if i could say "hello" to a long lost teacher at maunawili 5 years ago it would be Mr.Matsushima.
If I could say "hello" to a long-lost friend from Maunawili, it would be Pua. I would want to reconnect with her because she was my best friend. She always made me laugh. We weren't with each other everyday. But every time we were together, it seemed like we were always together every minute of the day. Pua always dances like crazy but it makes me laugh. She also sings when she's with me. Pua sings a lot and sometimes I would sing-along. Even though Pua's my cousin, I'm really going to miss her. Once we graduate it's going to be as if we were two peas in a pod that popped out and landed in different areas. I hope we're able to see each other once in awhile. I'm going to miss every bit of Pua's humorous and nice personality.
If I could say ''hello'' to a longest staff from Maunawili Elementary School it will be Mr.Matsushima. It will be him because he used to let us play game boys and games during study hall. He also gave us cuttlefish if we were good. I think he was my favorite 2nd teacher. But when he had to retire it was very sad.
If i could say hello to a long lost friend It would be Tomoaki Ishigaki. He was a great friend and was very nice. He would never tease anyone at all! Everyday he would make all of us laugh. He was very smart. he could do the mad minute really fast. So since he moved, We all miss Tomoaki Ishigaki.
If I could say hello to a long lost friend I would say hello to my best friend Tomoaki Ishigaki. He was my best friend and at the end of third grade, he left. It made our group fall apart. It consisted of me, Tyler T, and Tomo. We did pretty much everything together. I would give a lot just to see him again. We were also very competitive and constantly trying to beat each other. Unfortunately he is currently in Los Angeles, about 30 minutes away from Disneyland.
If I could say "hello" to a long lost friend from Maunawili it would have to be Alexa. We met each other in second grade and we were friends ever since she left. We would always hang around each other every minute that we could. She was older than me so she would prep me for my next year of school. She was like the older sister that I never had. We told each other all our secrets and we never had a dull moment together. All I have to say is that I really miss her and I wish that she was still here!!
Any student I taught in third grade. I would love to hear from them to see what they are up to and how they are.
I wonder what Rieko Ogata is doing these days. She was a great role model to her peers, an awesome student, and a talented artist. I named my daughter after her in hopes that she would exempify her positive characteristics.
I wonder what Meredith Smith is doing these days? I remember her dressing up as cat woman in third grade. Where is she now?
I would also like mention my teachers, Mrs. Shinagawa, one of the best teachers I ever had, Ms. Ching, one of the funniest teachers I have ever had, Mr. Rieben, because he supported me somewhat (I'm sure he couldn't really pick out favorites...kinda.) and also Mrs. Leslie, even though she isn't there anymore, A. Yonemoto, a great principal, Mr. Amine, Mrs. Schultz, and Mrs. Tanaka...both of them and I am not picking them out. These are really great teachers! and I will miss them.
If I could say hello to someone from my days at Maunawili - it would be Mrs. Vorce, my 5th Grade teacher - she was a really cool teacher and gave me her collection of National Geographic magazines dating all the way back to the 1920's.
I'd also like to say hi to my friend Tim Radcliff - we sure had a good time in her class that year!
Mrs. Miyajima - I wish I could have thanked you for all your help and support. You spent extra time teaching me to overcome my learning disabilities...which is why I have had a wonderful, successful and amazing life. I have traveled the world and taken your lessons with me every step of the way.
